Bellaire Beach - The city of Bellaire Beach held a hearing Monday evening at town hall on possibly banning skimboarding on Bellaire beach. Recent complaints from condo owners and residents targeted skimboarders for bad behavior near their condos or beach front property. Around 30 local skimmers packed the court house and stood up for their right to skim. After the hearing the council decided to leave the subject on the table, there isn't enough evidence at this time to possibly bann skimmers from the beach. The skimmers met afterwards outside the townhall (Right) to discuss some things they could do together to help make things work with the residents and the skim crowds.

After the hearing a lady in the city council came out to give some advice to the skimmers. It could be as simple as not leaving any trash on the beach, cleaning up, parking in correct spots and just being on good behavior. The next hearing will come the Monday after labor day. The city is expected to review this again and see if any changes need to be made.
