The ESA EASTERN'S finished off in good quality surf in the waist-head range. I had the pleasure to accompany my son Christian, and another former Gulfcoaster, Joey Putnal, (currently residing in Cocoa beach), to the contest. Although Joey was knocked out in the second round of competition, he surfed incredibly well and will again be back. Christian's competitive run landed him all the way into the finals. He made a vallient effort that came up short when the horn blew. He did leave the OBX with some hardware with a 4th place finish in the Menehuene division. Way to go Groms!
