Monday October 20th Anna Maria Island 8:30am Back from a incredible 3 day string of surf compliments of "Gonzo", and I must say Saturday was GOING OFF!! Back here today on the Westside, we have gorgeous WX with slighter cooler temps and a picture perfect sunrise. No surf and low rain chances for the first half of the week, but the forecast gets complex as we move towards the weekend. The low they have been forecasting to develop in the BOC seems to have more convection this morning and further development as we move into the work week is imminent. Models are currently split, and a wavier of a couple hundred miles could make all the difference for the GC to receive a swell from this storm. Models look like a star fish and are going off in all different direction, but with a front dropping into the Northern Gulf later in the week, this should be the catalyst for pulling this system out of the BOC and hopefully into our swell window. If this tracks above Cuba, we'll have a short pulse of swell and the farther to the North would definitely better our chances. Some models have it tracking over or to the South of Cuba and this would be detrimental to our surfing chances, but set up a dynamic scenario for the EC. I'll b e watching all the models very closely and will keep you updated. Have a great day. -- Tommy D. Gulf Temp 81°
