No Waves in The Gulf? Try Tampa's Bro Bowl.

Pics and writeup by: Kyle Schnieders

If you are into long boarding or just plain skating the Bro Bowl is a sick spot to skate at. The Bro Bowl is a pool-sized bowl in the ground that has a lot of history. This bowl has been here for many years and is part of Tampa’s history. Do be aware though it is located is the heart of Tampa’s projects. The (sometimes) crowd there is cool and talented. There is also a hill leading to the bowl that is paved and makes for a great roll in to get your speed up. Once you get to the bottom of the hill you enter the bowl, which is about 4 feet deep, and it is round almost all the way around. It has some really good little hills/bumps in the middle that make for some good jumps and act as challenging obstacle course. Check it out. It’s right next to Tampa’s crappy 275/I-4 interchange. Orange Ave N and E. Laurel St.
